This is it! The big 400th strip! 400 freakin’ strips. Can you believe that? And, like other past centennial strips, this one brings in a pretty big reveal! What do you think of Dark Maiden? This also marks Marc’s 100th SuperFogeys strip. Take that in. That’s amazing. Never late, always getting better and better, Marc [...]

New Wallpaper! SuperFogeys 400 – Dark Maiden
by Brock Heasley on April 3rd, 2012The response to yesterday’s big SuperFogeys 400 has been terrific so far. As a thank you to everyone for sticking with us and being so supportive, Marc has crafted a huge wallpaper from the latest strip and it’s a beaut. Click on the image below to enlarge and download it for yourself. Enjoy!
Even the strongest of leaders know to fear the might of the Space Pigs. I’m always impressed how Marc is able to fit so many characters into a panel and still leave me room for the dialogue. It’s a real skill to be able to do that. Most artists don’t have a natural instinct for [...]

Everyone knows that all characters should be three dimensional. You’re more likely to believe in a fictional character when you can recognize the humanity–however manufactured–within them. One way of doing this, I’ve found, is to have characters treat some people one way and others a different way. There’s a side of Swifty that doesn’t really [...]

Man, I don’t even know what to say. Ten years ago this week I decided to do a little experiment: I’d draw one comic strip a day for five days, just to see if I could do it. The hook of this little comic strip–old superheroes in a nursing home–was given to me by Tad [...]

I love the detail of the action here. When all read together, the “silent action” of the past few strips will hold up pretty well. Marc’s spatial awareness as an artist is top notch, allowing him to craft some truly terrific fight scenes. Trust me, only gets better from here. 10th ANNIVERSARY OVER! And hey, [...]

Happy Halloween! Right at this moment it’s 1am on an early, early Monday morning and I am freezing my butt off while we shoot, of all things, a treehouse scene about 30 yards away from me. Filmmaking keeps things interesting. Thankfully, my role as DIT (the guy who gets the footage backed up and into [...]

Marc has really killed it with this strip (pun acknowledged). He reconfigured the action as scripted to be much better than what I wrote, and that allowed me to delete half the dialogue! Collaboration at its finest. THE FALLEN SON And so we say goodbye to Captain Emo. Longtime fans will recall he was a [...]

One of Thrice Evil’s more frightening powers–one that we’ve seen demonstrated before–is his ability to induce (often horrific) seemingly real-life visions in the minds of others. Percy is only the latest victim. He won’t be the last. And… just to drop a hint… could there be a false image we’ve seen since this alternate Thrice [...]

More silent panels. Satisfying? No? Refer to my notes in the previous strip for why we’re doing this. The meat of this chapter is coming, and soon. Gotta get through these appetizers first and set everything up. All that said…that’s some beautiful artwork by Marc, no? See you on Monday with 807 – Space Pig [...]
