After paying to have his face recontructured, Money Man must have trained with Chuck, Jackie Jean Claude, Jet, AND Bruce. I’ve $5 theoretical that saying Soviet Sam gets hurled like frisbee before anyone can explain to MM that he’s gone good.

I’m getting a feeling Money Man knows more than anyone else on the “good” side, so I wouldn’t worry about that.

        Brock Heasley

Well, he certainly THINKS he knows something, doesn’t he?

I like how Percy is still angrily/dramatically yelling when he admits his mom is kinda terrible.

I loved that too. Percy is adorable and crazy.

Marc really just perfectly illustrated that panel. I love what he does with Percy.

I’m now curious as of what Moneyman has to say…as his actions surprised both the doctor and the captain.

Now I wonder what else Moneyman knows ?

      Soon…

Laying a bet down on Frustrating. I wonder if Speedy is going to find out about Money Man before time warping uncontrollably… Nope, too many paradoxes for that to happen.

      Paradoxes? I love paradoxes!

I imagine Percy saying, “That’s true,” in the same tone of voice he threatened Money Man.

Man of Means – sounds like the name that parallel universe Money Man might have.

“You are as helpful as your mustache is striking.” Gotta pause and wonder if that’s meant to be a real compliment or sarcasm.

    • Brock Heasley
      Brock Heasley

Honestly, it could go either way. Obviously, Money Man is a fan in general of the ‘stache.

Awe I love this comic so much! Can’t wait to see what happens next. I’m also surprised Tom could hold Percy back at all.

      Thanks for the love, Sam!

And you’re right, physically, there’s not way Tom could hold Percy back.

I love Percy in panel 2, the art is is superb. Also Man of Means it’s great. I like also where the relation between the two brothers is going, you can really see them complementing each other. Great work as always Mark & Brock!

So… the sideways pose—is THAT why David Caruso stood that way in CSI:Miami? I always thought it was because he is a pompous ass…

    • Brock Heasley
      Brock Heasley

Well, I don’t think you’re wrong about that. The sideways pose can be employed for evil as well.

Okay, I just noticed that Money Man is the only person in any of these strips who has 5 digits per appendage, not just here, but in every scene since he showed up again. WHY?

    • Brock Heasley
      Brock Heasley

      Why indeed?

      • Sam
        Sam

I just checked the origin story for Money Man and he only has four in these strips. Hmmm…alt. Money Man A.K.A. Man of Much Means!

    “THAT’S TRUE!”
    Bwahahahahahaha!

“You are as helpful as your mustache is striking.” This is now my second favorite quote from the series behind 255′s: “Do you have children, doctor?” “No” “Then you do not truly understand what disappointment is.” I’ll place my theoretical $5 as to how we’ll feel next week on . . . I’m not sure what word best describes when I sit in front of my computer and go “Hmm. Interesting.” Curiosity/suspicion/anticipation? Curspicitation? You seldom give us the whole story all at once. It’s one of the things I like the most about your writing. It’s a mystery with countless little clues hidden throughout the previous strips, and even your big reveals often contain further clues to something that will be revealed later. There is always a Brock Heasley plot twist hiding around a nearby corner laughing at us. As for the ongoing speculation regarding MM’s extra digit, genetic mutation mutation springs to mind since the standard biology in the SF universe seems to be 4 digits. I hope that’s not it, because if memory serves correct genetic mutation in humans resulting in an extra digit is often indicative of inbreeding. There’s a science tidbit for you. Enjoy :)

This Man of Much Means is a different one from the origin story of Money Man.

Yes, I looked, and Money Man only has the standard SF four digits. Check it: http://superfogeys.com/2009/02/09/sf-origins-the-money-man-pg-1-dinner-party/

Good Lord, I am such a webcomic nerd. I can hardly bring myself to admit that, which I guess is the first step in recovery, amirite?

Andrew, your comments are among my very favorites these days. You go down these rabbit holes that crack me up. Here’s the solution to the Money Man mystery as a reward:

He’s a hologram! No, wait, he fell asleep for 50 years! No… he’s really Mr. Crook in disguise! No, I got it—IT’S ALL A DREAM!

      • Andrew
        Andrew

Glad to amuse :) Hmm. Interesting. Could there be some real clue in there? Rabbit holes? Rabbits? Harvey? Money Man is a time traveling Harvey piloting a mandroid suit! Like that tiny alien from “Men In Black”! *mutters to self and begins charting new theory on Super Fogeys Plot dry erase board # 6* I’m also still waiting to see if zombie Samantha Roberts to shows up.

Tom does, indeed, rock a mighty fine mustache. Why, I do believe that the mustache is _his_ inherited superpower, not that silly invincibility, or flying, or super speed/time travel, or supergenius. It is my fervent hope that, Samson-like, his Impressive Mustache is revealed to be his genetic inheritance from Captain Spectacular.

    Pretty please?

Ooh! Ooh! Now let’s watch as Zurida declares MM her next suitable prospect for marriage due to his handy and near effortless defeat of her in single combat! :D

She seems to respect power like that, right?

    • Brock Heasley
      Brock Heasley

Now THAT would be a twist, right?

      • Infamous Nefarious
        Infamous Nefarious

She DOES seem to only respect power and strength. She got dropped in one shot. And I don’t think we ever covered HOW CS and Zurida ended up hitched….

      • Infamous Nefarious
        Infamous Nefarious

I dunno lol. I look at panel two and Percy’s maintained level of volume and intensity and I can’t help but wonder who is really who’s pet there. ~shakes head~

He’s a giant, green, super-powered puppy. And he’s just SO excited about EVERYTHING! :D
I’m not sure he’s aware of how big he is either…. Like a great dane puppy.

  15. Chris Blanchard

This strip has made me love Percy. I hope when all is said and done he sticks around and takes his father’s place as a hero of Earth.

I’m thinking more like road trip comedy with Percy and Tom. C’mon, who doesn’t want to see Percy in Middle America?

  16. Scott

I think Percy is my new favourite character.
