Our 5th Anniversary Celebration concludes today with this stellar “recap” of Chapter 12, “Jackpot!” from Steve VanDyken. Steve had the unenviable task of recapping a chapter that isn’t even finished yet, but his take on how it could end is wonderfully dark and cynical–and all the funnier for it. You’ll see how close he gets to getting it right before the year is out!
Well, today is the end of the big 5th Anniversary Celebration. I want to thank everyone who participated by lending their talents and showing their fandom with a chapter recap, a piece of fan art, or a short essay. I was blown away by the love and detail you all put into your efforts. With the exception of Chapter 11 (unfortunately, the person who signed up for Chapter 11 was not able to complete the assignment), the recaps were just a pure pleasure to see. I really had no idea what you were all were going to do with them and what you came up with was inventive, surprising and, most of all, fun.

Y’know I can’t say that this isn’t a perfectly typical Star Maiden narrative either….. A fantastic contribution, my favorite thus far. The LoB (another fantastic strip) cameos made snort. Skipped the laughing, right to the snort. Very well done.
Congratulations on 5 years. Believe it or not I’ve read every issue, origin, and guest strip and they’ve always all been phenomenal. I wish you many more strong years to come.
