UPDATE 11/15/18
This is the LAST DAY to pledge your support! We are over 250% funded at this point and there are so many Kickstarter-exclusive goodies available through our stretch goals for all those who pledge $35 and above that it’s insane. The book is done, it only needs to be printed. And now we know it will be. If you want one, hurry and come reserve your copy now!
UPDATE 11/8/18
There’s just one week left! This morning, we hit the 200% funded mark, unlocking our FOURTH stretch goal–a specially created Map of Valhalla exclusive to our Kickstarter backers. This means that ANYONE pledging at the SUPERFOGEY level or above will receive not only the Map, but also a SF bookmark and Mini-Prints. There’s still time for you to get in there, check it out!
UPDATE 10/23/18
In less than a week we have soared back our initial funding goal and already reached our first stretch goal! This means not only that SuperFogeys Volume One: Inaction Heroes WILL be funded, but that it will include the SuperFogeys Origin story “The Society of Heroes.” If you haven’t reserved your copy yet, there’s still three weeks left to get it at the discounted Kickstarter price. We so appreciate everyone’s support!
Original post:
Go to the Kickstarter right now and see what it’s all about!
It just doesn’t get bigger than this. SuperFogeys Volume One—Inaction Heroes has been in the works for YEARS and the Kickstarter campaign for just about as long. This book is going to be truly, truly special; a hefty, 300-page square volume covering the first 17 chapters of The SuperFogeys. This is the way SuperFogeys should be read, with strips stacked together like they never should have been presented any other way. It’s gonna be a gorgeous thing. I mean, check out these sample pages:
Looks pretty great, right? Going to look even better in person.
This Kickstarter campaign is about a lot more than just a book. We’ve got lots of goodies to give away like bookmarks and sketches and a chance for you to make a cameo within the world of The Superfogeys, but also really cool, behind-the-scenes style videos that we’ll be trickling out over the next several weeks.
You guys are amazing for sticking with us all these years. You’ve been with us through plot twists that made others give up on the Fogeys completely (hello, Dr. Rocket/Herman’s exploding head), time jumps, year long hiatuses, site outages, and more. This is the culmination of everything (and part of an eventual two volume set). I think you’re really gonna love what we’ve cooked up.
SITE NEWS
So, as you may have noticed, the site is finally back after four months of being down. This past year we’ve been plagued with multiple site outages, and it finally all came to a head over the Summer with a complete shut down. The good news: the site isn’t going out again any time soon. We moved to a new, more stable, and faster host. SuperFogeys.com is here to stay. Finally!
SWIFTY ORIGIN
One of the great negatives of the site going out when it did was the way the Swifty Origin and T.L. Collins’ great art got short shrift. I think Swifty’s origin is one of the, if not THE best origin we’ve ever done. Please, please take the time to read it all from the beginning. We dropped some big bombs in this story and connected a lot of dots. It deserves your attention, trust me.
CHAPTER 23 UPDATE!
First, the good news: Chapter 23—The Captain and His Father is written! Completely! The bad news: I haven’t drawn any of it yet. That’s right, I’m returning to full art duties for one chapter only while Marc takes a well-deserved break. The problem is: this might be the busiest month of my life. Not only has the SuperFogeys Kickstarter just launched, but my debut novel drops next week (more on that later), and there’s an even bigger project in the works that eclipses both of them (more than that one later, too). I WILL get to Chapter 23, I promise, but I wouldn’t look for it before the end of the year.
More soon!
Glad to see the site up and running again! Also just signed up for the kickstarter, so stoked!
Oh, awesome! Thank you so much! And yeah… good to be back!
