This is it! The big 400th strip! 400 freakin’ strips. Can you believe that? And, like other past centennial strips, this one brings in a pretty big reveal! What do you think of Dark Maiden?
This also marks Marc’s 100th SuperFogeys strip. Take that in. That’s amazing. Never late, always getting better and better, Marc has shown us all what SuperFogeys can really be. Marc has brought a sense of the epic to SF, and for that I’ll always be grateful. Couldn’t ask for a better partner in all this.

Now would be a good time to catch up on Star Maiden’s history a bit. Can’t figure out why she’s suddenly evil? I’d recommend beginning with her origin story and then following it up with her account of her time just before coming to Valhalla when she returned to her home planet!

I like the ships very much, Mr LaPierre. I look forward to seeing ‘em in greater detail! Makes me very, very sad that no Hollywood production company would likely ever take on the complexity and nuance of SF all over again.
Ah well. I also look forward to SUPERHEROES PUNCHING SPACE BATTLECRUISERS (and playing many more years of ‘find-the-easter-egg-inna-background!). Betting you’ll make it all kickass.

I didn’t think about Pinky and the Brain until after I re-read these comments and the comic. It’s pretty near and dear for me since I grew up with it!

I’m surprised Star Maiden threw in with that lot, and more surprised that she seems to be the leader. That seems extremely unlikely. Love the artwork though.
It is a bit of a shock, but we’ll be getting to know all of our villains much, much more in the weeks ahead.
Yeah there’s got to be more to this. Star Maiden couldn’t have just joined up with them and established herself as leader that quickly. Dark Maiden is either a different person (evil reflection? Star Maiden 2.0?) or else our heroine’s betrayl goes back much further…
Love the Pinky and the Brain shout out, and man what an epic panel in that last one. AWESOME!! Congrats on #400 and for #100 by Marc, this collaboration just get’s better and better.
We knew there would be an invasion, I just never expected Star Maiden would be leading the assault. Her past shows her dark side and her power to decimate those that have crossed her, so the potential was always there, guess it took a shot to the head to bring it all back, and it looks to be back with a vengeance.

Not BOTH of Cap’s crazy, megalomaniac exes! I’m surprised the two of them that close together doesn’t cause some kind of annihilation event of its own, from all the evil nutty in proximity. There should be a tidal effect that’s simply stultifying.

Thanks Mark and Brock for the fun times. I don’t know enough about art to get technical but I am learning to appreciate the colors, shadings, expressions, nuances. I have read more comics and graphic novels this past year than I have my entire life. And I have SuperFogeys to thank for it.
