And todays secret word is: Snotrags.

And does everyone know what to do when we here the secret word??

That’s right! Duck and cover because Star Maiden is about to loose the axel on her hamster wheel! Right…..? Pleeeeeeeeeeease? :D

    • CartoonistWill

That’s been my guess. :-) Come Monday (unless Christmas strips start rolling in) we’ll find out whether or not we are all screwed. lol

I’ll tell you straight out: Star Maiden is going into used car sales. TWIST!

  2. theasley

Cool Vegas dudes. Man, I’d love to hang out with them.

Brock, you have proven that people basically say and do anything they want when tragedy strikes.

Maybe that’s this robot’s TRUE special power?? He inspires careless, rude, and selfish actions. Watch out, SuperFogeys! You’re next!

    • CartoonistWill

I know I felt inspired! Hyuk hyuk! lol

Can you guess the TV show Marc based the Vegas Dudes on?

      • CartoonistWill

Not until you mentioned they were based on TV show characters. George Lopez Show?

      Comment of the day, Karen.

  4. Spike Matthews

Nice one, Swifty – I’d have been pissed at those arseholes too.
Oh, and – YAY! Star Maiden isn’t (“quite”?) dead. That “quite” of yours worries me, though…

  5. Collin

I’m thinking that Star Maiden is going to be no longer crazy once she comes to…

  6. Scott

Sorry Brock, but they’ve brought Spidey’s Uncle Ben back at least once too. It was then ‘corrected’ but that doesn’t fix the fact that they’re that stupid. There’s a reason why I don’t read mainstream comics.

Oh, now there is just one little point we all have to look for: at some point Swifty is going to be whisked away by Bubbles of Light, shortly after Jerry’s secrets are revealed to the cast.

I want to make a wacky far-out prediction: Using the hints ‘future’ Swifty gave us, I suspect that CS will wind up giving his powers to Dr. Rocket to heal his cancer and Dr. Rocket does a heel-face turn that has SpyGal look at him in a different light. It’d explain what Swifty meant about SpyGal and the Swifties reactions to it (more stunned than ‘grrraaaaggh NOT JERRY!!’ — ’cause ya KNOW they would rant then!) This result would satisfy CS because now the thing that went wrong so long ago has been ‘set right’ and he could retire like the ‘normal’ he’s wanted to be for so long. I can also see some sort of stinger where he’s hit be a rogue beam of super-power-giving just as he’s settling down.

    • CartoonistWill

I don’t read mainstream DC and Marvel comics for the same reasons. The writers screw them up so far and too far badly that they become UTTER crap at one point or another, lol. Give me Batman the Animated Series or some other shorter, higher quality self-contained universe and I’ll be happy.

    • CartoonistWill

I ain’t really seeing Dr. Rocket and Spy Gal getting together though. I actually think that either the Swifties were talking about her getting back with CS (they had more respect for her than that), Jerry (they still had more respect for her than that), or, well, I dunno. But not Dr. Rocket. Can’t see Spy Gal falling for him, even if he did have powers. Can see CS somehow giving Dr. Rocket his powers. Rocket is obviously a brilliant genius. He should know the dangers in exposing the crystal, even if he does think all the Jorbons to be dead, because he is hiding on earth on purpose. He should know that there is probably an imminent invasion of earth to pick off his sorry butt as they speak (er, gamble). Could it be that the good doctor, being evil, is manipulating Jerry’s efforts to win Spy Gal’s heart in order to make the events appear as if all of this “accidentally” leads to an alien invasion in which Dr. Rocket just so happens to be “given” Wilbur’s powers by “his own will,” and not by unknown manipulation of his emotions, healing his cancer, taking out the invasion, and… Ruling the world in his old age? Who knows, really. I like to guess because I know that Brock’s writing thus far has been so tight that there’s no possible way to deduce where he’s going with the plot. For the most part. But that is an awesome thought of yours, that Dr. Rocket somehow gets CS’s/Wilbur’s powers. Only time will tell.

But seriously. Spy Gal + Soviet Sam. Think about it. lol

Wow, Scott, that is a left field twist that sounds like something I might really do. Will I? Not saying. But it certainly would bring things around full circle…

Will, I hope I justify your confidence in me! We shall find out together.

    Called it. =D

      Indeed. Nice one, my friend.

  8. tmcelmurry

Swifty’s tears have awakened her. I, like @Collin, feel that this will jolt Star Maiden back to her usual self and she’ll be ready to take charge.

I was thinking of cartoon characters that have died and I almost went with Bill the Cat who died of Acne, but he was cloned from his tongue, so I guess that doesn’t count cause technically on a DNA level he did return.

I’m glad Uncle Ben kept his rice business going after he left Spiderman, that sure is some good stuff. :)

    • CartoonistWill

I dunno… Future Swifty acted pretty freaked out about her getting hit like that…

      You’ll find out on Monday.

  9. Dierna

The power of love brought her back!! Yay!! Now she’s sane again but is she evil again?

    • Brock Heasley
      Brock Heasley

      See above.

  10. Valareos

I think that the Beginning of the Bubbles of Light wont happen for a while yet, at least until they return to Valhalla. Why? The beginning of his travels he had his mask on, and using his walker. I see NO indications he even BROUGHT his walker to Vegas.

    • CartoonistWill

That and in the flashback (flash forward?), Jerry was there waving his sparkly Jedi dark-force powers hand at him (I mean, what?? lol. Maybe how his powers work?) and they were at Valhalla.

    • Brock Heasley
      Brock Heasley

      Good points. Well deduced.

  11. CartoonistWill

Ooh. Ooh ooh ooh. What if Star Maiden does become sane again, but not evil, and undergoes inner conflict and guilt for her years on her home planet being Queen Dark Maiden? Just saying. Was asking myself what other possibilities there could be.

    • Brock Heasley
      Brock Heasley

Ooh, that would be awful. And how responsible could she really be? There’s an argument to made that everything she did as Dark Maiden falls on her father’s shoulders.

      • CartoonistWill

Yes, but I don’t know enough about how the normal pre-loopy Star Maiden’s personality and mind works to deduce whether she would be consumed with inner guilt or pass that guilt on to “daddy.” But good point. :-)

  12. drew

i’ve got this feeling…that hit to the head of hers…JUST might pull her out of this space cadet mentality she’s been in for YEARS…and if that’s the case is she going to go back to her tyrant ways? OR is she going to really hero up…WOW…every strip i get more drawn into this story line

    • Brock Heasley
      Brock Heasley

I love hearing that, Drew. Answer coming on Monday.

  13. quarktime

She wasn’t dead, she was bluffing. She’s in Vegas, after all, and she thought if she just bluffed, she might win the next bet…so she was invoking the latin “to blave”, as in “to bluff”.

Actually, I’m just blowing smoke. She’s about to go all Dark Maiden on the Strip and shove a robot where the sun don’t shine. For a giant robot blowing up the Strip, Wilbur will keep playing slots.

When his ex-wife turns into a rampaging evil monster, that just brings up way too many bad memories. One rampaging evil monster ex-wife is enough. Two is too many. He’ll have to deal with this.

But I’m not making a prediction. I don’t make predictions about this comic anymore. Just sayin’.

  14. Kayjay

Haha are the Vegas dudes based on Jersey Shore? The porcupine hair and popped collar says it all…
