I was pretty specific in the script for this one. If I remember correctly, I asked for an X-Men-esque second panel. I have lots of fond memories from the John Byrne-Jim Lee era of great scenes of the X-Men on their blackbird. Then you have CSII doing that with his hair. Cracks me up.
Still need help with determining the best SF strips! Please highlight a few below if have a minute to help us out!
I’ve been putting the call out this past week for your picks for the best SuperFogeys strips. Marc and I are trying to craft an ashcan comic to hand out at conventions to give newbies a good idea of what SF is all about. My thought right now is to pick a selection of funny and and a selection of more serious strips and one complete SF: Origins tale. Should make for a nice little book.
The problem is that SuperFogeys is serialized. Not all strips out of their original context. So, that’s your criteria. If you’d like to help out, pick one funny and one serious strip and make sure that each can stand reasonably well on their own. I’d also love to hear your suggestions for which is the very best SF: Origins tale. Helpful Tip: Try using the archive pull-down below the strips on the home page to jump to a scroll of each chapter individually–that way you can look at a whole chapter at once!
To make this more fun, I’m gonna post the ones that make the cut below. In that way, this post will become a nice primer for anyone who wants to check out SF online as well. I’ve already gotten some suggestions from Twitter, so we’ll start with those. Enjoy!

Ah, cashews. Don’t know if you ever saw Saddle Rash (a single episode cartoon that became my favorite TV show many years ago as quickly as it became a single episode cartoon), but cashews always bring back memories. In Saddle Rash, one of the bad guys yells about cashew nuts. And so I’m having a hard time thinking the Healer is a good guy.
Never heard of Saddle Rash, but seriously, what’s a good mixed nuts bowl without cashews?
…and then they were slaughtered by the aliens, leading to the fogies having to fight, Jerry giving up the power source to stop the invasion, leading to the reveal that He caused them to be here.. leading to the 2012 teaser image….
A solid theory on the direction of the storyline if ever there was one.
OK, so now I’m rooting for the bad guys because this group is seriously too stupid to live.

It does, but those spaceships were so itty bitty on the screen. No fair that they’re so big now. It confuses CSII and makes him cry.
